The tree fern collection was planted in the 1880's and today forms an National Collection. The Kibble Palace closed in September 2003 and over the following 3 years was dismantled and restored off site before being re-erected on its plinth in the Botanic Gardens. The building officially re-opened on Saint Andrew's Day (30 November) 2006.

The Kibble Palace is an important and unique glasshouse of its type and takes the form of a large dome and rotunda connected to a smaller dome by a link corridor. The small dome forms the main entrance area and attached to the north and south is extended transepts. The maximum capacity for the venue is 100 seated or 150 standing.

The ceremony was an intimate affair in the glasshouse called the Kibble Palace , and the reception was held at the One Devonshire Gardens in the West End of Glasgow, and it was a small & intimate wedding celebration with the family and closest friends.

The ceremony took place in the Kibble Palace of the Glasgow Botanical Gardens building. As the rain poured and poured all day the original plans to have the ceremony in the open room were moved to this gorgeous little room surrounded by the most amazing tropical greenery. The ceremony was conducted by Gemma's sister who was absolutely marvellous.
