About Zimmerman Shoes. In 1962, our great-grandfather Milo purchased Kepner Scott, a children's shoe manufacturing facility that's right around the corner from here, as a retirement project. He worked in the children's shoe industry his entire career, but he knew he could make a better shoe than the heavy welted shoes on the market.
